I have a crush on blue items lately and this blue on blue outfit is another random put together for the weekend. Having a chambray shirt is so useful, am totally obsessed with styling it in every possible way!

Paired it with an aztec skirt from Zara, for added texture and different colour tones. Had to wear a pair of black stockings to keep myself warm in this freezing winter weather!

Chambray shirt – Promod, Aztec skirt – Zara, Belt – Forever New, owl necklace – Lovisa, black stockings – Topshop, black flats – SportsgirlImageHave been wearing this pair of black flats for a few months now and am happy that they haven’t given way to wear and tear. I go through black flats like a big packet of 20 toilet paper (need to get a new pair every 6 months because it will most likely be worn out!). Am looking forward to visiting Sportsgirl for more reliable shoes 🙂

Come shop with me: Midyear sale in Adelaide

Managed to pop by a few shops along Rundle Mall and found a few nice looking pieces from French Connection but did not end up getting anything as I was anticipating further reductions in the coming weeks :p Thank goodness I did as the prices were reduced by a further 20% last week!

I was surprised at how many pieces I pulled from the rack and the gray sweatshirt would have to be my favourite. How unfortunate it is that the lovely blue and gold skirts did not look right on me:( I absolutely love their gold sleeve shirt but the material was quite thin, something that I rarely wear because I do not want to expose my flabs><

Another must visit retail shop would be Forever New. I love their feminine approach to fashion and just about all their pieces are beautifully crafted. I have noticed that more mature cocktail pieces were displayed this season and for someone who lacks curves in a few places, I thought the pieces fitted quite well:)

This particular dress had pockets in it and the tailoring is well-structured. Satin and bling for attending a luxurious gathering?

I have been dying to try on something with heavy embellishments on the shoulders and this item felt right. The black material was added a subtle mix to the outfit.

After lunch, I managed to catch a bus and head to Burnside Village where the only Zara shop in Adelaide is located. I love Zara but I disagree with their prices 😦 Was looking for a decent pair of blue jeans for travelling but brought along other pieces to the changing room. Ah…the usual first world problems.

Tie dye shirt and leather skirt for a casual look?

I am still obsessed with military designs.

I was surprised at how well these pair of shorts fitted me. I tend to avoid shorts because I find them too fitting around my thighs but this was an exception.

These blue jeans were super comfortable but from memory, it would cost me $80 😦 Might have to wait for more affordable pairs of jeans to enter the market..

ImageStill contemplating on getting a yellow skirt/ top. Any recommendations?:)

Monochrome part 2

When you have no idea what to wear nor do you have time to create an outfit, one of the safest options would be to pick a black and white outfit. Black and white colour combination is recognized as not only a classic but also chic in this modern era.

I have had this dress for years but only started wearing it a couple of weeks ago after rummaging thru my closet! I need to think of better ways to display my clothes otherwise I won’t be able to see and wear some of them. #lifeofashopaholic

The dress is quite girly with the ribbon and frills and so… adding a structured blazer helps to tone down the feminine element of the outfit:)

Pastels and glitter

From memory, pastel colours are staying this year for spring/summer and not only are these colours very feminine, they are also very easy to mix and match, provided that a few neutral coloured accessories are added in!

I have had this skirt ever since tulle became a trend a few years ago and as for the top, it was a recent purchase at a Forever21 outlet in Malaysia. It is in the kid’s section but it was too adorable to miss #suckerforcuteness

Lady in red

Its not everyday we get the opportunity to dress up in the same colour from head to toe. I was experimenting with different shades of red to put together and here’s what I came up with. Reminds me of Chinese New Year where everyone wears red to signify prosperity!

I wore a bright tomato red top, paired with a deeper and darker shade of red and an even stronger, more contrasting blood red tone. Did not realize I have that many shades of red lurking in my closet! Image

Don’t you think so? This skirt has a quilted element and it is a pretty warm one, ideal for the cooler climates! It was a little baggy so I needed a belt to make it look more composed:)Image

Door to my heart

I strive to snap more artistic and creative portrait pictures but at times, this seems almost impossible, especially when I am torn between posing and getting the right angle! I am still working on it and hence, the occasional blurry pictures that appear on my blog. These pictures were taken from my house, in my bathroom to be specific, as I was experimenting with different perspectives to keep you guys mesmerized! Haha ImageImage

I love this pink skirt! I got it for $130 in one of the shops in Rundle Mall and found the cutting to be stunning! If only I could afford more of these gems, ey? Image

Spotted nude

When I first laid eyes on this playsuit, I knew that I needed to see it hanging on my clothes rack. My fondness for playsuits are endless and I think they are one of the most versatile and easy to wear one-pieced outfits around. You literally do not need to think when you are in a mad morning rush!

With basic colours such as black, white, blue or nude, it makes the whole dressing process even simpler. Add a dash of prints or stripes and you are ready to meet the world! This peter pan playsuit that I bought from Topshop had the cutest dog prints and with a bow belt attached, how to say no? This outfit sits nicely above my hips and lends me some much needed curves!
